Opening Montage… Pictures of the characters in the program mini drama as their names pass by. End of Montage, picture of the Nairobi. They show us KICC, Nairobi Law Courts and Jomo Kenyatta’s statue.
Basic plot… Richard owns a Law firm. Elsie and Jo work for him. They have a “blonde” secretary, who is quiet vain yet sweet. Jo is immoral and unprofessional. Having relations with the firms intern plus a number of other women. Gigolo…. Richard has family issues, has a son who seems to be perfect, takes right after him a law student….. yet his first born is a wreck of an alcoholic. A complete disappointment to him. This brings tension home. He is married to a lovely glamorous wife… used to the good life and he works hard to provide that for her. Elsie is a young mother of one… a small boy. She parted ways with her boyfriend who left her when she was young and pregnant. She survives on her own to provide a good life for herself and her son. She is in a relationship when suddenly her babys father comes back into the picture wanting to be a part of his sons life. Elsie is furious and things take a turn….. she breaks it off with her boyfriend to focus on her job and keeping her son from his father. He’s coming back into the picture brings back such pain. Different plots brought together by one main plot. Flow of plot sometimes comes off as not smooth.
Dialogue: For the most part are short and involving. Others seem useless and unnecessary as they do not introduce anything that is not already obvious to the audience. Though for the most part the dialogue is done well.
Characterization: Three of the characters stand out as being believable. Richard, Elsie… The driver and secretary. The rest are wanting and more than not believable, somewhat irritating to watch. The worst characterization comes from the crowd in the court room… goodness, they look like people randomly stopped on the road and requested to come sit in to fill space. Almost no if no characterization is seem from the court observers.

This is a more comprehensive critique. However, if you were the scriptwriter of this programme, what would you do differently and why?
